Books Updated
I battle with reading books. I get distracted easily, daydream, look around and cannot focus. I then end up reading that same page 4 or 5 times. Then I close the book and that is it.
So I started to listen to Audio Books. I know some people cannot do that, but for me it works. I have listened to more books this last year than I have in my entire life to date. Yes I am probably not getting everything that you would if you read it, but there have been some great reads.
I know you might not retain as much, but with a 20 min drive to work and a 35-40 min drive home each day, it is time to fill my head with something, rather than dwelling on destructive thoughts. Also traveling for business is often a 6 hour round trip, so that makes some good time to listen (READ) a book.
It has been a little slow on the reading side at the moment. Not so many long trips. Have not done much in the way of motivation or self improvement.
My 4 top choices for greatest reads I had this year:
Shoe Dog - Phil Knight
Outliers: The Story of Success
Mark Greaney - The Gray Man Series (Action non-fiction series)
A Minute to Think - Juliet Funt
I will update this list from time to time with a new selection that I believe could be beneficial.
