Books
I battle with reading books. I get distracted easily, daydream, look around and cannot focus. I then end up reading that same page 4 or 5 times. Then I close the book and that is it.
So I started to listen to Audio Books. I know some people cannot do that, but for me it works. I have listened to more books this last year than I have in my entire life to date. Yes I am probably not getting everything that you would if you read it, but there have been some great reads.
I know you might not retain as much, but with a 20 min drive to work and a 35-40 min drive home each day, it is time to fill my head with something, rather than dwelling on destructive thoughts. Also traveling for business is often a 6 hour round trip, so that makes some good time to listen (READ) a book.
I did start with mostly leadership books or motivational books, but I included 3 non-fictions books as well. They were so exhilarating and I really wished there were more in that series. I even read one of the books twice. That was mainly because I started on book 3 after which I realised they all followed on from each other.
My 3 top choices for greatest reads I had this year:
The Range - David Epstein
The Ride Of A Lifetime - Bob Iger
Atomic Habits - James Clear
